Finding the Best Local Florist Online

The internet is a wonderful resource for getting ideas for wedding flowers and bouquets, but chances are the floral arrangements which really get you excited are probably made by a florist many miles away, often in another country altogether. You could try to narrow your search to only find local florists, in my case the search would be ‘wedding flowers Glasgow‘, but even with this specific search, the results are dominated by national flower delivery companies who outsource their deliveries to any florist on Glasgow who is willing to take the order. This is all well and good but not knowing which florist will be delivering your wedding flowers leaves a little too much uncertainty, and if they’re not up to scratch on your big day, it’s too late to do anything about it.
All the major search engines have a ‘maps’ feature and this can be very useful when determining if a florist is actually based in the town of your choice. This feature is usually found near the search box where you can choose to search the entire web, just images or videos, and by selecting ‘maps’ you can search your local area. So by clicking on ‘maps’ I then type into the search box ‘Glasgow wedding flowers’ or ‘Glasgow florists‘ (or the town or city of your choosing) and hit the ‘search’ button. The bulk of the results page will show me a large map of Glasgow and down the left hand side are the results themselves. These are accompanied by either a letter or number which corresponds to their location on the map which helps me determine how local the florists’ listed are.
If like me you’re in one of the UK’s larger cities, then choosing a florist on the same side of town can avoid one common mishap, that being traffic problems on the day of delivery. If for a example the florist is delivering Glasgow wedding flowers on the other side of the city and for some reason or another, the traffic is gridlocked, then they are not going to be delivered on time. For this and many other reasons I can’t think of, shop as local as you can if you live in a large city.
Once you’ve found your local florists you can have a look at each or their websites by clicking on the results or the individual markers on the map. Most self respecting florists will have a gallery page which will highlight a variety of their floral arrangements and from these galleries, choosing which florist is your favourite should be a simple and straightforward task. In my case, having searched for ‘wedding flowers Glasgow‘ I found four florists who were not only on the right side of town, but also had a gallery on their website which inspired me. Of those four, two were too expensive, one was too busy and the remaining florist was more than happy to cater for my wedding flowers. Although they are yet to be delivered, I’m confident they will be just as stunning as the images on their website, and being only a couple of miles away, I’m confident they’ll arrive on time too.
